Chocolate Mousse Two Ways


Way number 2 was the favourite in our family this week – especially with the youngest of the family at 8 months old!!!

Ingredients

  • 200gm Dark Cooking Chocolate
  • 4 Eggs, separated
  • 1 tablespoon White Vinegar
  • 300ml Thickened Cream and extra to whip for garnish
  • 1 punnet Strawberries, sliced
  • 1 Cadbury Flake Chocolate Bar

Method

  1. Break chocolate up and place into a microwave safe dish.
  2. Melt chocolate in microwave and allow to cool.
  3. Gradually combine egg yolks to the cooled chocolate and stir well.
  4. Whip thickened cream until peaks form.
  5. Fold the cream into the chocolate.
  6. Whip egg whites and vinegar until peaks form.
  7. Fold the eggs whites into the chocolate.
  8. Transfer the chocolate mousse into serving glasses or bowl.
  9. Refrigerate until set.
  10. Serve with sliced strawberries and garnish with Cadbury Flake.

Ingredients

  • 200gm Dark Cooking Chocolate
  • 450ml Thickened Cream and extra to whip for garnish
  • Pinch of Salt
  • 1 punnet Strawberries, sliced
  • 1 Cadbury Flake Chocolate

Method

  1. Break chocolate up and place into a medium saucepan with 200ml thickened cream.
  2. Over a low heat melt chocolate, thickened cream and salt, stirring constantly.
  3. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
  4. Whip thickened cream until peaks form.
  5. Slowly fold the chocolate mixture into the whipped cream.
  6. Transfer the chocolate mousse into serving glasses or bowl.
  7. Refrigerate until set.
  8. Serve with sliced strawberries and garnish with Cadbury Flake.
