You’re Never Too Old to Have Fun at Darling Harbour, Sydney

If you are looking for a fun day out or overnight stay in Sydney then look no further than Darling Harbour. There are activities galore in Darling Harbour for all ages – here are some of my favourites:

1. Sea Life Sydney Aquarium, Wild Life Sydney Zoo and Madame Tussauds Sydney

These are great places to visit for all ages. Whether you visit just one or all 3 in the same day, it is a fun day out at Sea Life Sydney Aquarium, Wild Life Sydney Zoo and Madame Tussauds Sydney.

2. Take a Ferry or Lunch/Dinner Cruise

You can catch a Ferry from King Street Wharf to Circular Quay where you can then catch another ferry to places such as Taronga Zoo or Manly. Otherwise you can walk from Circular Quay to the Sydney Opera House or The Rocks.

Lunch and Dinner cruises also depart from King Street Wharf.

8. Chinese Garden of Friendship

If you would like to experience a traditional Chinese garden in the heart of Sydney, then why not visit the Chinese Garden of Friendship. With lakes, pavilions, hidden pathways and waterfalls you will be so relaxed in the garden that you will want to stay all day.

9. Cockle Bay Wharf

Cockle Bay Wharf is the place to go for a fine dining experience whether it be a light meal at the Lindt Chocolate Cafe or an enjoyable dinner at Nick’s Seafood Restaurant.

10. Darling Harbour Children’s Playground and Darling Quarter

Darling Quarter is a great place to dine, for example a light meal from the Guylian Cafe or authentic Brazilian BBQ at Braza Churrascaria.

The Children’s Playground is heaps of fun and will keep children entertained with swings, water games, climbing ropes, slides and a flying fox.

11. Harbour Jet Boat Rides

If you would like an exhilarating experience then don’t go past a Harbour Jet Boat Ride. Departing from Darling Harbour a jet boat ride will take you out into the Harbour where you will have a thrill and most likely be drenched on your return.

12. LG Imax Theatre

The LG Imax Theatre at Darling Harbour has the world’s biggest screen. Watching a 3D film on the screen is an experience like no other.

13. Accommodation

If you are looking to make your trip to Darling Harbour an overnight stay, our preferred accommodation are the  Novotel Sydney on Darling Harbour and Ibis Darling Harbour.
